ADMISSIONS: INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

LOOKS Academy accepts applications for admission from international students. There are, however, certain documents required of international students prior to admission.  All required documents should be sent to:

Entrance Requirements: 

You are required to provide two pieces of identification, one of which must be a picture ID issued by a government source, such as a driver's license or passport.  All the textbooks are in english and the course lectures and discussions are conducted in English.  If English is not your native language you will need to demonstrate proficiency in English by taking the TEOFL test and submitting your score to the Academy.   

Completion of Grade 12, or Equivalent
You must provide documents showing that you have completed at least grade 12, or whatever equivalent may be available in your country.  You must be at least 18 years of age at the time you wish to begin your studies.

Medical insurance

Canada requires foreign students to provide their own medical insurance. Please arrange for three months of private medical insurance before you come to Canada. You can choose to apply for Government of Canada medical insurance once you arrive here, providing you meet eligibility requirements.  More information about this subject is available from the admissions Office.

How to Apply:

• Obtain an application form by contacting LOOKS Academy.
• Submit your completed application form with all grade 12 and/or other educational documents.
• Include a non-refundable application fee of CD$100 with you application.  Credit cards are accepted.
• Include your resume, the program of study to which you are applying, and the date on which you wish to begin your studies.

Upon Acceptance into LOOKS Academy:
Once you have submitted your completed application form and supporting documents, and if you are admitted to study, the Academy will send you a letter of acceptance.  You must obtain permission to enter Canada as a student by taking your letter of acceptance to the Canadian consular office nearest you. It can take between 3 weeks and 6 months for the Canadian government to complete the processing of your application and grant you a visa to enter Canada as a student.  The length of time it takes depends upon the workload in the office and whether or not you will need a medical examination.

Tuition

You will have to pay your tuition in full prior to coming to Canada. The tuition fee you pay is non-refundable. You will be responsible for your own living accommodations and living costs in Canada.  There are opportunities for single or shared accommodation or living with a Canadian family, which is a great cultural experience and gives you a lot of practice speaking English during your stay in Canada.  The Academy's Department of Student Services can provide further information and advice.  You may contact them by phone or by email to: admissions@looksforlife.com
